Each child learns in different ways. That's why we believe that it is important to have a variety of avenues in teaching our children. Some of the many ways children learn through our Lit'l Chefs cooking classes are:

1. Learning to Follow Directions (in order for the recipe to work)
2. Learning to Read Directions (to get the desired results)
3. Learning Math (simple fractions, measuring, sequencing skills)
4. Creating Sensory Awareness (through taste, smell, touch, etc.)
5. Vocabulary Enrichment (basic ingredients consist of small vocabulary words that provide young children with language enrichment - Words like: Milk, Eggs, Sugar, Flour)
6. Learning Cause and Effect (children learn how adding, leaving out, or changing one ingrediant can change the entire outcome)
7. Cooperation and Teamwork (working together means that they have to wait for their turn)

Ms. Melodie has her AA degree in Early Childhood Education and a degree from the San Francisco Culinary Arts Academy. She has been working with Bethel's Preschool & Kindergarten since April 2002.
