Julie Kennedy has been serving as Bethel 's Preschool Director since June of 2002. Born and raised in Washington state, Julie began her early childhood ministry there in 1991. Julie has a background of teaching and administration and holds a two year internship in Children's Ministry. Julie's most recent accomplishment is the completion of her Bachelors Degree in Business Management at St. Mary's College in Moraga. Julie's primary responsibility is for Bethel's nursery, preschool, and kindergarten and includes the management of the school and its 21 staff members.
Assistant Director
Jenny hee sook Lee (her name, hee sook, means "sunshine" and "pure water") has been with Bethel Preschool School since 1995. She grew up in South Korea and moved to California at the age of 16. Her educational background is in Christian Counseling and Early Childhood Education. She has been recognized for 24 years of teaching the Korean language and has received International Awards and attention. She has taught Sunday School for 15 years and has been a minister at the San Jose Korean Baptist Church for 10 years.
Office Administrator
Angela Schaffner was born and raised in the bay area in a loving Christian home. She has currently taken on a position in Bethel's Preschool as an Office Administrator. Ms. Angela has over 7 years of personal experience running her own business. She is bringing her knowledge and skills to assist the Preschool Director. Angela hopes to start a family of her own with husband Scott, while raising their children at Bethel Church and continuing to help the preschool grow. Angela enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Food / Event Manager
Melodie Hack graduated from the California Culinary Academy in 1998 and joined Bethel's team in 2002. She currently holds an A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Child Development Permit. Ms. Melodie works as Bethel Preschool and Kindergarten's Food Service Supervisor overseeing the preschool's snack and lunch menu, cooking classes for children, and orchestrates food for staff meetings and school events. Ms. Melodie's most recent accomplishment is her new cooking class for adults titled "Fishes and Loaves."
Volunteer Parent
Nicole White, originally starting as a Bethel Preschool parent, has taken on a Project Leader role for the school. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and partners with her husband in their own business. Her favorite things to do are reading and arts & crafts. She has 2 children in the Preschool and has been married for 9 years.
