1. Why did you decide to go on this mission trip?
I was once involved in missions right out of high school. It was both good and bad, but I remember the tug on my heart then and how badly I wanted to make a difference for Jesus . I was moved by the trip I recently took to Mexico and wanted to go to Peru hoping we would be even more involved than we were on the Mexico trip. I have always had a heart for missions and wanted to do something to somehow make a difference in the life of another. Being a pastor's kid and raised in a family of missionaries, you tend to have the same heart. As much as I'd like to say I'm not called or am not ministry material, as much as I say I'm not a pastor nor do I want to be one, as much as I fight with my inner person about it ( ALL THE TIME!), I know there's a minister inside of me trying to surface. I need to trust God that I won't be burned again like I was in the past and be able let go and allow Him to do what He needs to do without me fighting.
2. What do you personally expect to get out of this trip?
I am expecting God to do some miraculous things, not just in my own life, but in the life our our youth and I can't wait to be a part of it! I want to see it with my own eyes, experience it and not hear about it after the fact.
3. What is your prayer for God to do for each team member on this trip?
To reveal Himself in a "new" way, in a unique way and for each team member to know beyond any doubt that they have been touched and "changed" by the God who created them and called them to do His work. Changed to the point that when they get home, they really change and begin to metamorphosize into "new creatures" ready to move into the next level of relationship and ministry! AWESOME! |
