Water Baptism

"Baptism is a celebration. This is a time of celebration when a follower of Jesus is provided a platform to proclaim their faith in Jesus and intention to live for Him and to serve Him. Baptism is also a time of celebration for the church as a whole. It is one of the highlights of our churches calendar when we stop and interact with people taking this significant step toward maturity in Jesus."

"For more information regarding our doctrinal stand on water baptism please click here, or feel free to call the Church office. We would encourage you to join us for our next baptism service."

Dedicated to your Success,
Pastor Bret Allen

Water Baptism Classes
We believe that water baptism is an important step in following Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-39). As such, we offer baptism classes (to anyone 12yrs of age and up) throughout the year so you can understand what baptism is all about. The classes are taught by one of our staff pastors on Sunday mornings at 9:15am in the Library (Room 215). Please think about these questions prior to attending the class:

  • How did you come to accept Jesus as your Savior?
  • What kind of difference has it made in your life?
  • Why are you choosing to be baptized?
  • What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
  • How did you find Bethel Church?

If you have any questions, call 246-6790 x247.

The Baptism Class dates for 2012 are as follows:

January 15, 2012
9:15am (Room 215 Library)

  January 18, 2012 6:30pm (Prayer Chapel)

April 1, 2012

Water Baptism
Once you have attended the class, you are ready to be baptized during the next water baptism. For example, if you attend the class on January 15th, you will be baptized on January 29th. If, for some reason, you can not be baptized at the next water baptism, please contact Shannon at the church at 246-6790 x247 as soon as possible and you can determine the next best date.

The Baptism dates for 2012 are as follows:

January 29, 2012

April 8, 2012 (Easter Sunday)

November 18, 2012

The morning of the baptism you should plan to do the following:

  1. Arrive in the reception area 1/2 hour before the service you will be baptized in (8:45am for the first service, and 10:30am for the second service).
  2. Bring a change of clothes, a towel and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.
  3. Women, wear a black shirt made of heavy fabric and pants. We provide a baptismal robe to wear over your clothes.
  4. Men, wear a black shirt made of heavy fabric and pants. We provide a baptismal robe to wear over your clothes.
  5. Children, you may wear a shirt made of heavy fabric and pants or you may wear a baptismal robe over your clothes.
  6. Parents, if your child is being baptized you are welcome to stay in the baptismal tank area or sit in the sanctuary and come back after they are baptized. There is supervision in the baptismal tank area.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
